To my fellow residents of the great city of Chesapeake:

My name is Clayton Spruill. I'm running to be your next representative on Chesapeake City Council, and I'm asking for your endorsement and support.

I currently serve as a member of the Planning Commission. I am also a retired administrator from Chesapeake Public Schools, where I dedicated years to shaping young minds and strengthening families through education.

My commitment to public service extends across the Commonwealth of Virginia. I come from a proud Democratic family, and have served as a board member for the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

I'm a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, an organization built on scholarship, leadership, advocacy, and service. Those principles are values I live by.

My preparation for leadership is grounded not only in experience but also in education. I am currently a Doctoral of Education candidate at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with an anticipated graduation in 2026. I earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Regent University in 2001.

I also hold a Dual Endorsement Certification in Special Education from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia, earned in 1994, and completed my studies in Business Administration at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1989.

Chesapeake is not just where I live. It is where I have invested my life. From my early years as an engaged and productive citizen to my current service, I have worked to make our community stronger, more responsible, and more unified.

Service is not new to me. Leadership is not new to me. Collaboration is not new to me.

Please support my candidacy so I can be in a position to use my skills and experience to move our great city forward.
